Modern family villa in Dubai with pool and tropical garden

Project Type:Villa
Location:Dubai

A contemporary villa in Dubai for a young family: panoramic glazing, warm natural finishes, a generous pool and lush landscaping that feels like a private island resort.

This contemporary villa in Dubai was designed for a young couple with a child who chose this home as the start of a new chapter in their life.
Large panoramic windows, warm natural finishes and a generous pool blur the boundary between interior and garden, turning the house into a private family resort.

The project focuses on space, light and a relaxed resort mood. The villa was extended by 1.5 metres, and several structural columns were relocated with all required permits to achieve cleaner proportions and more comfortable interiors and terraces.

Clients and lifestyle

The owners are a young couple with one child. For them, the villa is:

  • a place to build a long-term family life,
  • a safe environment for a child's first games in and around the pool,
  • a calm setting for evening conversations and weekends at home.

CYFR treated the villa as an evolving family scenario rather than just a stand-alone object: the architecture, landscape and outdoor living areas are designed to adapt to different stages of family life.

Architecture and extension

The architecture combines clear horizontal lines with large glass surfaces and warm accents in wood and stone. The 1.5 m extension allowed to:

  • enlarge key living areas facing the garden and pool,
  • create more comfortable circulation along the façade,
  • align the proportions of terraces and outdoor seating zones.

Relocation of columns was carried out based on structural design and approvals, so the villa keeps a clean, minimal silhouette without compromising safety.

Pool and outdoor living

The pool is the heart of the plot. It works simultaneously as:

  • a place for a child's first water games,
  • a visual mirror for the façade,
  • a cool backdrop for evening gatherings.

Around the pool there are:

  • wide relaxation decks with loungers,
  • an architectural water feature that forms a vertical "curtain" of water,
  • safe approaches with steps and railings integrated into the design.

In the evening, the pool becomes a light-filled centre of the garden, reflecting palm trees and the sky.

Sunken lounge and fire pit

Next to the villa, slightly below the main level, a sunken lounge is organised – a soft outdoor living room framed by greenery. Here are:

  • built-in sofas with textiles in calm neutral tones,
  • a central fire pit for cool evenings,
  • low tables for drinks and snacks.

The lounge is surrounded by water channels and soft pathway lighting, which turns the zone into an intimate outdoor living room where you can host friends or spend quiet family evenings.

Landscape and atmosphere

The landscape is built on the idea of island calm:

  • palms of different heights,
  • dense green groups that create privacy,
  • soft layered lighting along paths and around seating areas.

The greenery visually softens the strict geometry of the architecture and creates the feeling that the villa stands in a private tropical garden rather than just a city plot.

Character of the project

This villa is about a light, honest family life without excess pathos:

  • children's games in and around the pool,
  • relaxed breakfasts on the terrace,
  • evening talks by the fire with the sound of water in the background.

Every corner feels thought through for everyday scenarios: from safe circulation for a child to sheltered places for parents to unwind.

By combining modern architecture, carefully engineered structural changes and a resort-like landscape, CYFR created a villa in Dubai that works as a real home for a young family – beautiful, easy to live in and truly theirs.
